HPAH team members enjoy working in a modern practice that includes a state-of-the-art on-site laboratory, well-equipped surgical suite, digital X-ray unit, dedicated dental area featuring a high-powered IM3 unit, and more. Our space and tools allow us to perform a range of routine and complex services on a variety of species, while our partnerships with mobile surgeons and our in-house board-certified pathologist ensure next-level patient care and valuable learning opportunities for our team.

Hamilton Plaza Animal Hospital is a full service small animal practice also serving some exotic and pocket pets. We are located in Dacula, Ga off of Auburn road in Gwinnett County, a short 45 minute drive from Athens.
Dr. Tara C. Zak, Owner and Veterinarian, opened the doors to her practice 10 years ago with a mission to provide “Healthy pets with no regrets”. Tara is a 1995 UGA graduate with 25 years of experience. She is an involved member of her Hamilton Mill community in tennis fundraisers, school career nights and the BNI national networking group. Dr. Zak is also a member of the AVMA, GVMA, Gwinnett County VMA as well as a USDA accredited veterinarian. She is a shareholder of the Animal Emergency Care of Braselton.
Hamilton Plaza is an AAHA accredited practice that provides exceptional veterinary services to your beloved pets. We have state-of-the-art equipment, a highly qualified and motivated staff and great amenities, offering the best in wellness and preventative medicine. The office is fully equipped with on-site Abaxis laboratory machines and a state-of-the-art Fuji digital X-ray machine. The surgery suite has a heated surgery table with pulse oximetry, EKG monitors and an anesthesia machine. Fluid pumps, a cautery unit, and a bear hugger are utilized as well. We also have a wet table for dental procedures where a high powered IM3 unit utilizing nitrogen makes dental procedures a breeze. There is also an additional anesthesia machine and monitors provided for these procedures. The practice also offers boarding and grooming for our clients.
Hamilton Plaza Animal Hospital has an exceptional staff. We are a small size group but large in compassion, support and loyalty. All the staff is experienced and work very hard to provide the best care to each and every patient.
